The meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m. by Mrs. Alfreida Joseph-Goins in Room 39 of Dorothy M. Wallace COPE Center

In Attendance: Alfreida Joseph-Goins, Sharon Blair-Pottinger, Dr. Angela Gayden, Constance Gilbert, Dr. Yvonne Parchment, Sonya Harrington, Joey McCall, Dr. Tarika Quinn, Marilyn Morning, Dr. Calvina Clay, Sarah Russell and Annette Burks-Grice.

The minutes from the February 21, 2017 meeting were read and corrections made. Ms. Gilbert moved to accept the February 21, 2017 minutes with the corrections. Dr. Clay seconded.

Mrs. Goins led the discussion as to whether there should be any changes to the school uniform or if it should remain the same – red, white, or navy blue polo shirts and black or tan pants and blue jeans.

It was unanimously agreed that the current uniform code will remain the same.

Block scheduling was voted on by the staff on February 27, 2017. A hundred percent voted to keep the 4x4 schedule.

One hundred percent of those present at the EESAC meeting voted to keep the 4x4 block schedule also.

In the staff meeting of February 27, 2017, the staff voted on the waiver which would allow teachers to take on non-instructional duties. The vote was 75% for and 25% against.

The EESAC members voted to keep the waiver – 100% for and 0% against.

A discussion was held on what to spend the EESAC funds.

Dr. Clay suggested that this year the entire student body attend the Transition Ceremony at Robert Morgan Educational Center.

Ms. Blair-Pottinger asked if we could get educational pamphlets on nutrition for the students. Mrs. Goins said she will make sure the available information will be given to the students.

Dr. Clay asked if we could purchase “The Voice”. Mr. McCall said the reason it has been put online for the students is because this is the medium they use most. He said printing it is not a problem.

Mrs. Grice recommended spending the EESAC funds for food for the various upcoming end of the year student activities.

Ms. Gilbert moved to allocate the entire $400 for end of year student incentives/activities. The vote was unanimous for this amount to be spent.
