1. Meeting was called to order and quorum was established.
2. Approved: Minutes from November 30, 2017 EESAC Meeting
3. Welcome to fourth EESAC meeting of the 17-18 school year.
4. Updates by Principal
a. Conducted FSA and SAT Parent Workshops for grades K-5 lead by school principal, assistant principal, teachers and school counselor throughout January and February.
b. At these meetings district (mid-year) and state mandated exams (mid-year) results, iReady and in-house exam results were discussed
c. After school tutoring resumed in January and is taking place for grades 3 through 5 through April 2018.
d. FSA Student Pep Rally will take place on March 22, 2018
i. Approved: Final schedule of events.
ii. Approved: Teachers with the highest percentage of level 5’s on FSA ELA and Math 2017 will receive reward bonus on day of pep rally.
e. Title I Chess competition took place on February 10th.
f. SECME competition took place on February 10th
g. Jump Rope For Heart kick off began on February 26th
h. Mater Academy East Annual Art Auction Scheduled for April 19, 2018
i. End of year show scheduled for May 2018
j. The safety and security of each student, faculty, and staff member here at Mater East are our number one priority. In light of the recent tragedy, along with our commitment to ensure a safe school environment, we have hired a security firm to asses our school site and provide training.
i. Approved: February 28th & March 1st Comprehensive Evaluation of Current Lock Down and Related Safety Procedures training.
5. FSA Rewards Update
a. Approved: EESAC reviewed votes that had been taken at the beginning of the school year. Recognition award funds for being an “A” school for the 2016-2017. EESAC Committee came to a consensus; FSRP funds will be distributed amongst all staff members as an incentive when funds are available.
6. Updates by EESAC members
a. SIP Mid-Year Review: The SIP was reviewed by all EESAC members.
i. Approved: No changes will be made to the 17-18 SIP at this time
b. Art Auction
i. Members made suggestions for location and theme
c. End of Year Activities
i. Members made suggestions for end of year graduation/activities for 5th grade
d. SECME
i. Members discussed purchasing materials to further develop SECME program
