School Improvement Process
Phase 3/Quarter 3
We are currently looking into the third phase of the SIP plan. We are focusing on school culture and academic programs. We conducted a walkthrough in which we were looking at what else to improve on in the next quarter. We worked on it for about two days and we will implement it the next quarter. -Galceran

Advanced ED Accreditation Engagement Review
Colleges and our school district go through a laborious and intense process to become re-accredited. Our visit was February 12, 2019 and even though we do not get specific feedback on how we did they were very impressed with our teacher leadership interview. Informally we did a great job and they were very impressed with all the great things we are doing in our school.- Riaz

They were so impressed that one of the interviewers will come during her spring break to shadow Dr. Riaz! -Galceran

2019-2020 School Improvement Plan Waiver
One of the abilities that the EESAC Committee has is to make amendments about what the school district asks the school to do. We would like to vote on whether we should continue to have a SIP waiver to split the grade level chair stipends among seven teacher leaders in the school instead of three. We are splitting the $3,556 into seven parts to have a grade level chair for each department to facilitate building leader teacher capacity. -Riaz

We would like to continue this into the next year. EESAC makes the recommendation to continue splitting the grade level stipends. Do we agree? -Quintero

Unanimous agreement -All members

Now we will motion to vote on this SIP Waiver in the next faculty meeting. -Riaz

School Operations
Mr. Snipes is working on rewiring the ethernet drops. We are trying our best to do that but our wireless internet is more reliable than our ethernet is so we will continue purchasing the WIFI adapters. The two missing classrooms got their laptop carts today. So all the third through fifth grade classes have laptop carts now. We also have available desktops for classes who need them. -Riaz

Is there any way I can get one? -Moore

Yes, put in HEAT ticket and specify that I said it was ok to take one out of room 25. -Riaz

Thank you! -Moore

The clocks are currently being fixed. So it is best to use the time on your phone. - Riaz

Curriculum Issues
We are currently Access for ELL's testing. We are trying our best to get it over with as soon as we can so push in support can continue in the classrooms. -Galceran

We updated all IEP’s before the FTE cutoff date. -Grisales

Budget Reviews / Updates
We have received our second allocation for interventionists. The money should run out in April but we will do everything in our power to close the year out with intervention. -Riaz

Title One
We are having a parent survey go out soon. We would like the teachers to support us with encouraging parents to participate. -Rosario

New business
We are getting a playground soon. The primary playground would be for pre-k and will be coming soon. The intermediate playground will come first and will be located next to the first-grade classrooms. This playground is designed for first grade to fifth graders to use. -Riaz
