Topics Covered

Curriculum Issues

*Issues about changes to FCAT dates due to Hurricanes were discussed, however, FCAT Dates will not be changed.

*Our countdown to FCAT has started. There are approximately 70 Days to FCAT remaining.

* The Media Specialist will be teaching library skills. The skills will include the proper care of books, how to use the card catalog, etc.

*Concerns were discussed about the use of classroom computers. Teachers should ensure the computers are being used effectively.


Budget

*Kindergarten are requesting more computers. The classes have 3 computers. The kindergarten teachers proposed EESAC to purchase computers.

*EESAC does not permit the purchase of materials for only one grade level. They purchase materials that would benefit the entire school.

*The library would like to purchase AR Books, however, students need to complete library skills classes prior to the purchase of more books.

*EESAC suggested purchasing signs for the library so that children can locate books easily.


School Operations

*The Assessment team was present to discuss the installmentof an elevator. The elevator would benefit our special education students who are not able to utilize the stairs.

*Chalkboard trays in the classrooms are in need of repair.

*School roof is damaged and needs to be repaired.
