Call to Order
The EESAC meeting was called to order at 3:40 p.m. by Ms. Odessa Europe, EESAC Chair.
Welcome/Mindful Moments/Introductions
Ms. Europe welcomed attendees and opened with a mindful moment in honor of the 19th Anniversary of 911. All attendees were asked to take a moment to remember lives lost during this tragic event. Some attendees shared their personal stories as well.
Agenda amended to move approval of minutes to end of this meeting.
Elections
Ms. Europe discussed elections are conducted annually and our need to vote during this meeting for the following positions: EESAC Chairman and Recording Secretary. Attendees voted for each candidate by roll call. Vote results were unanimous for each candidate with no opposition.

Ms. Europe shared out the SIP School Culture Phase I & Phase II and SIP Academic Programs Phase I & Phase II

Secondary Essential Practice Neutral Data Findings
• Inservice programs keep staff up to date with strategies

Essential Practice for Significantly Decreased Data Findings (Primary)
• There is insufficient resources such as funds, books.
• There were significant decreases in student performance during distance learning in core classes
• There was a decrease in academic performance in ELL students during distance learning in core classes

Dorothy M. Wallace COPE Center will continue to provide opportunities for accountable talk to monitor the progress of our students and promote ownership of their academic performance.
Phase II Data Analysis (August 31 – October 16, 2020)
• Introduce students to concept of accountable talk
• Student survey form to indicate student feedback on effective use of accountable talk.
Priority Actions/ Implementation
Dorothy M. Wallace COPE Center will provide our teachers with training and coaching on using the Gradual Release of Responsibilities Model with fidelity (GRRM)
• Train teachers in the use of the GRMM.
• Create teacher observation room.

School Culture Outcome Statement: If our school continues the practice of Celebrating Success, then we will effectively increase student academic achievement. If our school effectively Empowers Teachers and Staff, then we will see an increase in teacher morale and participation in school leadership positions. If our school promotes a Shared Mission and Vision, then there will be increased stakeholder involvement at all levels of school operations.
Academic Programs Outcome Statement: If our school sustains the practice of using Accountable Talk, we will continue to monitor the progress of each student and ensure that they are meeting academic milestones for each course of enrollment. If our school effectively implements technology in Student Engagement strategies, we will see an increase in student participation and, thereby, academic performance. If our teachers consistently and effectively use the Gradual Release Responsibility Model, we will see an increase in the number of students taking ownership of their own academic successes.
Year in Review
Commendable:
Dorothy M. Wallace will retain its Commendable Rating for the 2020-2021 School year!
Class of 2020 Graduation:
We had 26 out of 29 seniors to graduate.
Title I Funds Review-
Mrs. Edouard shared out that the Title I funds are based on student enrollment and this year the funds were taken up mainly by teacher supplemental pay which was $944.00. The remaining $165.00, which is 10% of the Title I funds, will be used for parental involvement. Items such as paper, pens, and brochures are purchased for parental use and for the parent resource room. Ms. Europe also shared that EESAC funds are for all students.
Community Partners/Student Voice
Ms. Natalia Coletti (Dade Partner) shared out students enrolled in their classes were served virtually through the summer months. Ms. Coletti stated they were awarded a grant from the Kiwanis Club. The funds were used to purchased gift baskets with age appropriate toys and books and were delivered (safety protocols) to students enrolled in their classes. All students from our school graduated from the program. Ms. Coletti shared that her organization is looking forward to serving our students virtually during the new school year. Students will receive a welcome kit and receive interactive sessions. Also, Ms. Coletti shared information regarding the Children’s Book Club. A parent can sign up to receive by mail monthly a free book for their child. The reading program now covers from birth to age 5 to promote literacy at home. Mrs. Edouard thanked Ms. Coletti for their parenting services and invited her to share the same information with our faculty and staff.
Minutes
Motion made by Ms. Gilbert to accept minutes from March 11, 2020 with noted changes and was seconded by Ms. Binett. Minutes were passed.
Motion made by Mrs. Morning to accept minutes from May 22, 2020 with noted changes and was seconded by Ms. Gilbert. Minutes were passed.
