IV. Approval of Minutes from September 15, 2020
- Mr. Feiler made a motion to approve the minutes, and Ms. Feiler seconded the motion.
- Minutes from September 15, 2020 were approved unanimously.
V. School Improvement Plan 2020-2021 & SIP DATA Talks
- District has come up with a way address the regression due to COVID-19.
- Data chats have been had with accountability groups. Even though there may have been some regression, we do not anticipate it to be as severe as other schools.
- We are doing Topic, Mini, and Quarterly assessments in Math, Science, and Social Studies to monitor progress. Mid-Year Assessments for English and Math are currently occurring.
- Intervention is mostly done through tutoring. Afterschool program will be launched soon.
- Administrative Walkthroughs will be ongoing, as well as data chats with teachers.
- Cross curricular planning has already taken place and will continue to be an area of focus for the school year.
VI. EESAC Budget
- Currently we have over $3000 in account.
- A motion was made by Mr. Feiler to transfer $1500 to EESAC Internal Funds to allow for small purchases including certificates, pins, food items, and medals for incentives of attendance, academics, community service, honor roll and other accomplishments.
- Motion was seconded by Ms. Riambau, and unanimously approved.
- It is recommended that EESAC revisit the remaining budget balance in the February meeting and possibly allocate remaining funds to awards ceremony items.
VII. Recruitment Update
- Doing pretty good with recruitment despite the circumstances.
- Thus far we have had three proficiency exam sessions.
- Starting in the 2021-2022 school year, ISPA will be adding the IE French Program to the curriculum.
- Meetings have been had with the Spanish and Italian consulate via zoom. Information on how we are adjusting to these pandemic times was shared. Meetings were very successful.
VIII. PTSA Update
- PTSA is still running the store. They are currently selling uniforms and masks.
- They are trying to brainstorm fundraisers for the school year.
- They will be giving teachers and staff a special treat for the holidays.
IX. New Business
- Ms. Riambau expressed how students have said that overall online learning has been good for them.
- Ms. Riambau expressed that students wanted to know if there would be a yearbook this year.
- There will be a yearbook. School pictures are going to be scheduled over a three-day period. One day for physical students, and two afternoons for MSO students.
- Yearbook will look different, as the journalism class will have to rely on getting pictures and images from students, as opposed to taking the pictures themselves.
- The yearbook will still be a physical book.
X. Adjournment
- Ms. Feiler moved to adjourn the meeting and Mr. Feiler seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 3:20pm.
