The meeting was called to order at 4:12 p.m. The minutes from the previous month’s meeting were read and approved with changes.
OLD BUSINESS:
Mrs. King suggested Ms. Donaldson use In School Chamber of Commerce funds to pay Chamber of Commerce membership dues and the members agreed.
NEW BUSINESS:
Ms. Pratt suggested someone talk to Ms. Elmore about having parents involved with her FBLA club work with PTSA or EESAC.
Ms. Pratt presented a proposal for computerizing all DMWCC accountability documentation (example – services, FCAT-related, etc.). She will work on this project.
It was suggested that at the next team meeting a refresher should be given on how to use e-mail so teachers can read their e-mail each day, thus cutting down on the amount of paper used to put out memoranda.
Edusoft software will be purchased by the district for use by all schools.
Ms. McKay and Ms. Bradman said that FCAT Explorer has been much improved. Some students even enjoy using it now.
Mrs. King commented that if students have poor attendance we need to look at some of the activities in which they are participating.
Ms. Bradman commented that some of her students are out of class every day for some reason or another, even though they may be at school.
Ms. Russell will make steps for how to get into e-mail and some of its functions.
Ms. King said a date will be determined when will suspend club meetings.
Mrs. King informed us that Ms. Edouard, Ms. Bradman, and Ms. Marcus can give a refresher at the writing in-service. This may help the content area teachers help students improve their writing skills. Teachers need a Rubric – the basics.
Mrs. King and Ms. McKay will do a presentation next Thursday (11/18/04) for the in-service. It should take an hour at most.
The next EESAC meeting will be December 8, 2004 at 4:00 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:36 p.m.
