Welcome/Mindful Moments/Introductions
Dr. Quick welcomed meeting attendees and conducted Mindful Moment: Self-Reflection: During this past year, what is one positive attribute that you learned about yourself? Ms. Gilbert conducted member roll call for attendance.

Minutes
Dr. Gayden made a motion to accept March 19, 2021 minutes with noted changes and seconded by Ms. Morning. Motion passed by consensus.

Administrative Updates:

Ms. Edouard shared out the following:

The Superintendent is scheduled to visit our school on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 to congratulate the DMW COPE Center Aspen Challenge Team for their participation in the competition and being awarded a Grand Prize Winner! The Superintendent will tour the Zen Room during his visit with the Aspen Team.

Ms. Edouard congratulated the Aspen Team and acknowledged faculty & staff for this schoolwide effort, and said it was beautiful to see the “You Matter!” theme throughout the building. Additionally, she received a congratulatory letter from Ms. Sally Ali Leon-District Mental Health department, and this letter will be shared with the coaches and students.

The request for a school time change document has been submitted and it will go to the school board next month as a part of the June board meeting.

SIP Update: Phase V End of Year Reflection: Faculty, staff & students are encouraged to complete the surveys. Ms. Edouard gave an overview of the procedures and requirements to complete the school culture and academic programs sections of the SIP. The school culture and academic programs outcomes will be shared at the next faculty meeting.

Teacher Appreciation Week-May 3-7: The entire staff received a “Thank you” via email. Ms. Edouard will distribute little mementos this week just to let you know that you are appreciated.

Great Things are Happening!
CTE

Ms. Binett provided (on screen) an overview of CTE students (classes) involvement in the Dream in Green activities for the school year. Great Job!



Aspen Challenge

Ms. Gilbert and Dr. Jenkins shared out the following: The Aspen Challenge Team, including Coaches Gilbert and Jenkins received a gift box filled with prizes such as a beach towel, sunglasses, treats, certificates, and a Kindle. Additional Aspen Challenge Team prizes awarded such as a MacPro Laptop, Airpods and a $2500.00 scholarship check (students) will be presented during the Superintendent’s visit on Tuesday May 11, 2021.
Kudos to everyone for your support. The Aspen Challenge Team students have won collectively over $40,000 in prizes.

Budget- Funding Requests
Ms. Robinson submitted a $300.00 budget proposal on behalf of Ms. Aurora Garcia and Ms. Maria Diaz, school spirit leaders to offset their expenses for various school-wide activities. Dr. Jenkins made a motion to accept Ms. Robinson’s budget proposal request and it was seconded by Dr. Gayden. Results: Motion passed by consensus.



Community Partners/Student Voice

Student Voice- None

Ms. Edouard shared out that Ms. Luisa Santos, School Board member will attend and congratulate the Aspen Challenge Team on May 11th during the Superintendent’s school visit. Also, Ms. Santos will be invited to the Senior Transition Ceremony on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 10:00am.

EESAC next meeting: Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 8:30am.
