Call to Order
The EESAC meeting was called to order at 3:20 p.m. by Dr. Argentina Quick, EESAC Chair.
In Attendance: Mrs. Tammy S. Edouard, Ms. Odessa Europe, Dr. Angela Gayden, Ms. Constance Gilbert, Dr. Ruby Jenkins, Ms. Charlene McNicholas, Mrs. Marilyn Morning, Pastor David Perez, Dr. Sharon Pottinger, Dr. Argentina Quick, and Mrs. Mildreca Robinson.
Non-Members present: Mrs. Lisa Milton, Ms. Nuris Binett, Mrs. Aurora Garcia, and Mrs. Maria Diaz.
Welcome/Mindful Moments/Introductions
Dr. Quick welcomed all attendees. Ms. Gilbert conducted member roll call.
Restorative Justice Practice (RJP) Mindful Minute
Dr. Quick shared out as cited from Community News Releases -September 21, 2021; “This year, M-DCPS is amplifying its RJP Check2Connect and ConnectionB4Curriculum campaigns by creating opportunities for real and meaningful connections among teachers and their students.”
Old Business
Minutes from October 5, 2021, November 17, 2021, January 28, 2022, and March 16, 2022 meetings were reviewed collectively.
A motion was made by Dr. A. Gayden to approve the October 5, 2021, minutes and seconded by Mrs. M. Morning. Passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Ms. C. Gilbert to approve the November 17, 2021, minutes with noted change and seconded by Dr. A. Gayden. Passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Ms. C. Gilbert to approve the January 28, 2022, minutes and seconded by Mrs. M. Morning. Passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Ms. C. Gilbert to approve the March 16, 2022, minutes with noted change and seconded by Dr. S. Pottinger. Passed unanimously.
TALENTS Program
Ms. Gilbert shared out currently the program is wrapping up for end of the school year and acknowledged students who participated in the aftercare program. Ms. Gilbert thanked teachers who worked with the program and Mrs. Edouard thanked Ms. Gilbert for working as school site coordinator.
New Business
Drs. Gayden and Jenkins reviewed the final phase of the SIP Action Steps-Reflection Plan. Dr. Gayden made a motion to accept the SIP End-of Year Review and it was seconded by Dr. Jenkins. Passed unanimously.
EESAC Roster-Member Revisions
Members were provided an updated EESAC Roster and EESAC Roster Composition. Currently, our school has a waiver on file changing the basic composition of the EESAC.
EESAC Bylaws
The EESAC Bylaws will be reviewed at next meeting or beginning of the school year for revisions.
End of Year Assurances Compliance
The End- of -the Year Assurances Compliance forms were signed during the meeting and will be submitted to the District. A copy will be available on Padlet.
Testing Information
All students have tested except one. If she tests, we will have 100% for all test categories.
Title 1
Dr. Quick shared, on behalf of Mrs. Morning, the Title 1 audit is scheduled for May 31, 2022.
Dade Partners
Pastor Perez shared that it was awesome to come into the building to provide the Teacher Appreciation Breakfast this school year. Mrs. Edouard thanked Pastor Perez and 3W Church as well as Dr. S. Pottinger and the CHI Clinic for the support they provide to our students and staff.
EESAC Funds/Financial Matters
Current account balance is $2,642.56. No funds were spent from the EESAC this school year.
Student/Parent/Teacher Voices
Ms. Binett shared out that three (3) CTE students passed the Safe Serv exams. Additionally, one student successfully completed all eight (8) sections of the Early Childhood exam.
Mrs. Edouard introduced Mrs. Lisa Morrison-Milton, our new school counselor.
EESAC next meeting: June 1, 2022, if needed.
