Topics Covered

The meeting was called to order at 4:01 p.m. The minutes from March’s regular meeting were read and approved.

OLD BUSINESS: None

NEW BUSINESS:

A discussion was led by Sandra Ames on whether to ask for a waiver to evaluate paraprofessionals. Examples of the types of waivers are: block scheduling, supplemental pay changes.

Mrs. King said a waiver would be required for paraprofessional evaluations because no evaluations are included in their union contract.

Mrs. King said the Nursery objective will be included in the School Improvement Plan for the next school year.

The EESAC will recommend a waiver for paraprofessional evaluation upon faculty and staff approval. Ms. Ames and Ms. Allen will write up the rationale for the waiver by Monday (April 4, 2005).

Mr. McIntyre led the discussion on the end of school activities:

Church of the Ascension Program – 5/10/05
Senior Dinner – 5/11/05
Awards Program – 5/13/05
Club Day – 5/17/05
Tots Graduation – 5/19/05
School Picnic – 5/20/05

Mrs. King said we need to come up with a menu to determine the cost of the picnic.

Mr. Fair said he may be able to get someone to cook and bring music to the picnic.

Ms. Ames said may be able to have the Student Government sponsor to fundraising activities before the end of the year. Tentative dates are: April 15, 2005 and April 29, 2005 – Shorts day.
Students will pay $1.00 to be able to wear shorts on these dates.

The next EESAC meeting will be held April 13, 2005 at 7:00 p.m.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:46 p.m.
