First EESAC of the school year.
Introduction:
Welcoming the new members and new parents to the EESAC team.
*Voted for EESAC Chair and Secretary.
- Motion passes unanimously to keep the same EESAC Chair Dr. Miyar and Secretary Ms. Perez-Castillo for 2023-2024.
*Last years minutes were approved for the month of May 2023.
-Ms. Espinosa motions to approve with corrections
- Baez seconds and everyone is in agreement
Principal Updates:
- We are still a Title I school.
- School held Academies for parents in English.
- Will be holding an Academy for parents in Spanish soon.
- Principal will be going to Budget meeting on October 5 or 6th.
- Principal thinks she may lose a teacher.
- There are about 570 students enrolled.
- A lot of families are moving away and it affects school areas.
- School ID will be running soon. Machine was damaged.
- Principal will be holding orientation soon with the students.
- School received a donation of a Slushy Machine.
- Homecoming is on October 20th.
- Competition- We will continue monitor students i-Ready and monitor students
that are on Green (Go Green) These students will receive incentives.
- Principal spoke to Ms. Alcivar to get a list of students that scored a 5 to
treat them for a VIP breakfast. (5 Star Breakfast)
- Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month
- Food Truck for teachers. (Mexican Style)
- Hispanic Heritage Performance during orientation. There will be two different
dances from Ms. Barahona's dance team.
S.I.P:
- Five major priorities for school improvement this school year are:
- School Safety
- Moral and Culture School Climate
- Parent and Community Engagement
- Student Support Services
- Data Driven Decision Making/ Teacher Quality/ Professional Development.
- We have one more security guard this year.
- Got gates for the restrooms. One bathroom will be open on the first floor and
in the second floor to limits the traffic of students going to the restroom.
- Received 12 new cameras. No cameras in the restrooms nor locker rooms.
- I.D. will be issued soon. ID will have a scan code that students can scan their
ID when they come to school late and will automatically be marked in the
attendance.
- Will be adding a buzzer for the main office to minimize the in and out of
parents.
- Trees have been cut down and trimmed.
- School have been painted inside.
- Pressure washed the walk ways and sidewalks.
- School received new door wrap and counter wrap logo.
- New Test Chair is Miss. A. Baez.
- We have two mental Health support counselors for students and parents.
- Based on the Data, we are still a C school. Our goal is to be a B school.
- School went up a few points from last year.
- We do not have a math coach, but did gain a reading coach, Mrs. Albert.
- Positive Culture and Environment
- Welcome students and Parents to feel comfortable and feel as family.
ESSA:
- 69% Hispanic
- 30% Black
- 1% Other
- We did not meet in one area of our goal because of one student that was under
the race of White. That student will receive all the support and extra
assistance in their education.
- Retention Recruitment for Teachers and Students - We recruit the best teachers to support all the magnet classes.
- Principal would like for parents to be aware that CCMS is an amazing school
with amazing students.

- Every year $2999.00 is given to the principal for school wide incentives.

- Title I meeting was held on September 7th, during Open House.
- EESAC Stake holders training on Zoom October 27th. Dr. Miyar will be sending the link for those to attend.
Student Updates:
- 6th Grader Jaley thinks the school is nice and students should see the Instagram page to see how fun it is at CCSMS. She also expresses that restroom should be opened during class transition and have proper hot breakfast if students arrive late due to bus issues (eggs, sausage, and pancakes).
- Enmarria from 7th grade is enjoying herself in school.
- Angel Castro, 7th grade, thinks the school is big compared to his countries school. He also thinks it’s nice and has a lot of technology. Angel's mom thinks the same and its appreciative that teachers care for her son.
Teachers Update:
- Teachers just finished PM1 and started AP1.
- PM2 is during December or early January.
- Progress Reports will be sent out on September 22nd.
- Security Week September 18-22.
- Next Meeting will be on October 18, 2023.
- PTSA Meeting will be on September 27 at 4:00 p.m.
