Welcome
- Ms. Artime welcomed the EESAC members and guests.

 

Approval of previous minutes.
- Minutes were reviewed and approved.

 

Principal’s message, Mrs. I. Artime.
- STE(A)M School Designation Virtual Visitation went well. The District team was
able to meet with our some of our teachers, the S.T.E.A.M. liaison, and an
administrator. Teachers present were able to review and discuss their
S.T.E.A.M. lesson(s) with the team. Additionally, the team discussed how our
school’s S.T.E.A.M. culture has evolved over the years. Dr. Garcia is still
gathering information (partnership agreements, professional development
records) that has to be uploaded to the District.
- National Blue Ribbon Award – last awarded to Carver in 2018. Ms. Artime worked
with a team to complete the application process; application submitted April
05. It’s important to note that schools are invited to apply for this award.
- B.E.S.T. Writing, Grades 6th, 7th and 8th has concluded except for a few
students that were absent during their testing date. A make-up day has been
scheduled; students have been notified.
- F.A.S.T. ELA administration is scheduled for May 06 (6th grade), May 07 (7th
grade), and May 08 (8th grade).
- We will celebrate Earth Day on April 22. There are a host of school-wide
activities planned to mark this exciting day.

School Improvement Process (monitoring, implementation, review, etc.), Mr. S. Rivers, Assistant Principal.
- Mr. Rivers provided an update on the 2023-2024 School Improvement Process
(SIP). He mentioned that the end of the year is approaching; started gathering
data for the end of the year review and reflection. The leadership team will be
meeting to discuss the end-of-year process.

Old / New Business
- The District will observe Take Our Daughters and Sons To Work Day on April 25,
2024. Students / parents that plan to participate must submit a field trip
form.
- Our awards ceremonies are scheduled for May 28th (6th grade) and May 29 (7th
and 8th grade). Parents of students that will be recognized will receive an
invitation.
- School Climate Survey (Parents, Teachers and Students) are due by May 10th.
Parents were sent a link to access the survey. Students will be administered
the survey during their Social Studies class. Teachers have been instructed to
pick-up a sealed envelope from Mr. Rivers to access and complete the survey.
As in the past, the surveys are anonymous.
- A field trip to Washington D. C. is scheduled for April 25th-27th. There will
be approximately 50 students, accompanied by Mr. Sands, Ms. Garcia, and some
other chaperones, participating in this field trip.
- Ms. Daniels provided an update related to our sports program(s).
