Principal Message (Ms. Artime)
- 93% of students in Reading are proficient (Level 3 or higher; based on Progress
Monitoring 3).
- Coach Daniels will be honored during the School Board meeting for her 45 years
of service to M-DCPS (May 15).
- The Italian AP exam was administered yesterday (May 13). French AP, Spanish
AP, and German AP are scheduled for this week.
- Algebra EOC, Biology EOC, Civics EOC, Geometry EOC are scheduled for next week.
School Improvement Process (monitoring, implementation, review, etc.; Mr. Rivers)
- Mr. Rivers discussed the End-of-Year EESAC requirements, which included the
2023-2024 EOY EESAC Composition Waiver and 2023-2024 EOY Assurance Checklist.
We are not proposing any changes to our EESAC composition; no need to submit a
waiver.
- Mr. Rivers discussed the School Improvement Plan (SIP) 2023-2024 End-of-Year
Review and Reflection process. He shared the findings outlined on the
Continuous Improvement Reflection Worksheet with the committee.
- The EESAC Bylaws were reviewed and updated.
- The results of the EESAC elections (staff, parents, and students) were shared
with the committee.
- Mr. Rivers reminded the committee that the awards ceremony is scheduled for May
28th and 29th; invitations have been sent to parents and students.
New/ Old Business
- Summer School – Carver will host Summer 305 programs from June 24 – July 26.
Students and parents have been notified if summer services are required to
recovery any failed courses.
- Construction happening in Summer – construction on the new awning is scheduled
to start during the summer. The area will be off limits during the summer;
summer school will not be impacted.
- Progress on Media Center – the flooring has been installed in the media center.
Also, the walls have been painted. Construction will continue throughout the
summer.
- Golf and Tennis Team County Champions
- Wonderful Year in Sports
- Our 1st Sports Banquet is scheduled for May 21st
- June 5th Carver Reunion – former Carver students that are now graduating high
school will return to reunite with their middle school classmates.
