The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m.
OLD BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS:
Discussion was held on the use of the EESAC funds and the best ways to use the $2,200.00.
Ms. Ames said we need to shop around for the best price on certificate paper.
Ms. Loring said we may want to look at having awards after the end of each semester.
Ms. Ames asked if we could write to manufacturers for sample copies of teacher editions of various books.
Ms. Allen wanted to know if we can get teacher editions of books. She thinks that maybe we can start a book club and have book talks with the students during lunch – book chats.
Ms. Gilbert discussed the library book club.
It was recommended to give $200 to the Reading Coach, $500 to the Media Center, and $1,500 for awards. The recommendation was approved by the members present.
Ms. Riley suggested we send out solicitation letters to businesses and restaurants for incentives for the girls.
Ms. Clarington said we will have to report the 2005 FCAT scores for reading, math, and science ORF.
There will be no EESAC meeting in December. The Tots Olympics will be held on Friday, December 2, 2005.
The next meeting will be January 11, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. in the Media Center.
