Call to Order:
A meeting of the Country Club Middle School Educational Advisory Council was held in Room 32 on September 18, 2024. Chair Dr. Miyar called the meeting to order at 4:15 pm. Secretary Perez-Castillo will record minutes for this meeting.

Minutes:
Ms. Baez motions to approve the minutes of May 2024 meeting. No corrections were needed.

REPORTS:
Principal UPDATES:
*CCMS went up 65 points for 2023-2024 school year. Almost a B school.

S.I.P:
*This year’s goal is to go up 50%, which hasn’t happened in 12 years.
*Last year Civics was the only core class that had collaborative planning. Scores were at 66% and went up to 75%.
*Collaborative Planning was created this year to all core classes (Science, ELA, and Civics) except for Math.
*CCMS was able to retain teachers.
*School attendance was at 88% of students chronic absences- more than 10 absences. Our goal is to lower that % of chronic absences

Title I UPDATES:
*We still have Mrs. Martin as our Title I Liaison.
*Title I and funding is based on students’ attendance.
*Last year we were able to purchase 2 teachers, plus hourly, and bought 10 supplements.
*This year we were only able to purchase 1 teacher, no hourly, and 9 supplements. *Enrollment went down to 498.
*It went up to 501 registered students.
*Mater Lakes Charter took many of our students, and many moved away from the county.
*Comparison of students’ enrollment from last year to this year: 581/501
*Even though we have less students, we have a lot of parent involvement.
*Last year, 96 parents attended to Open House, this year, 104 parents attended Open house.

Student Updates:
*Kennedi Luxama (6th grade) stated that she is having an amazing time at school.
*Bertram Edwards (7t grade) stated that he is enjoying 7th grade and excited for the school year.

Testing UPDATES:
*Finished PM1
*I-Ready AP1 starts September 18-October 18, 2024

--Approval of new EESAC members

Gabriela Cardenas the new BCR from Miami Dade College was appointed by the principal.

• MOTION to Review and approve 2024-2025 SIP (School Improvement Plan)

The SIP was reviewed. A motion to approve the SIP was moved by Ms. Baez and seconded by Mrs. Perez-Castillo. After discussion, motion carried and the SIP was approved.

• The 2024-2025 Assurances Checklist was reviewed by the EESAC Chair will be signed and uploaded

• The 2024-2025 SIP Signature Page was signed and will be hand delivered to the Region Office

• 2024-2025 EESAC Roster was updated and will be verified and approved by the EESAC Chair and Principal

• There will be an EESAC 2024-2025 Stakeholders Training on November 5, 2024 - EESAC. More information will be provided at next meeting.

*Homecoming October 18,2024
*Hispanic Heritage month Activities: Talent Show, Breakfast and lunch for teachers.
*Hispanic Heritage Dance
*Taste around the World.
*School Pictures Make-up November 8, 2024
