- Welcome
- Approval of previous minutes.
*Minutes from previous meeting were approved.
- Principal’s message, Mrs. I. Artime.
*Orchestra students will perform for their parents on 12/12/24.
*Ribbon Cutting ceremony for our new Innovation Space (12/17/24)
*German Winter Fest be held today (in school).
- Florida School Recognition Funds.
*Funds from the state have been received.
*A committee has been formed to ensure that the District guidelines for
distributing the funds are followed.
*All stakeholders are welcome to join the committee.
- EESAC Funds.
*Ms. Artime informed EESAC that EESAC funds were provided by the state ($5.00
per student); no money allocated from the state in the past 2 years.
*Ms. Artime reported that the school currently has $8353.77 in its EESAC
account.
*Ms. Artime requested that $2999.00 be transferred to the Internal funds
account; to be used for school wide incentives. EESAC approved the request.
- Fall Data Chats.
*Data chats (by departments and teachers) were conducted based on all
available data at the time.
*Teachers also conduct data chats with their students.
*During data chats, strengths and areas of improvement are identified; plans
of actions are put in place.
*National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) students will begin math tutoring; will
be supervised by teachers.
- Color Run Presentations and Pep Rallies.
*Scheduled for Thursday, December 19th.
*The administrators are working closely with PTSA to ensure that the event
runs as smoothly as possible.
*Representatives from the Color Run will be speaking to students during their
elective classes to promote the event.
*Prizes for the top fundraiser(s) will be awarded.
- Eye Glass Drive (Lion’s Club).
*We are continuing to collect eyeglasses for the Eye Glass drive.
*The eyeglasses are being collected in the main office.
- Construction Update.
*The auditorium is slated for construction soon.
*The scope of the project will be shared as more information becomes
available.
- School Improvement Process (monitoring, implementation, review, etc.), Mr. S.
Rivers, Assistant Principal.
*We are continuously implementing the action steps outlined in our SIP.
*Teachers and students have been provided with the links to complete the 2024-
2025 Mid-Year School Climate Survey - window opened December 02, 2024; ends
January 10, 2025.
*Data collected from the survey will populate the 2024-2025 SIP Dashboard that
will inform Phase V Mid-Year Review of the School Improvement Process.
- Initially Targeted and Initially Advised Schools for Attendance Boundaries
(ABC).
*Mr. Rivers discussed a memorandum from the Office of School Leadership and
Performance related to the “Attendance Boundary Committee (ABC) Notification
Of Final Targeted And Final Advised Schools.”
*The final listing of targeted and advised school was also shared.
- School-Based Oral Health Program (Screening), December 16th, 2024.
*6th grade students will have the opportunity to participate in the Oral
Health Screening (parent consent required).
- S.T.E.A.M.
*Dr. Garcia provided the committee with a S.T.E.A.M. update.
*He mentioned that we are preparing for our District visit; uploading lessons
and other required documents.
*Science Fair projects and SECME projects are also being uploaded.
- UTD Steward.
*Ms. Vinat spoke briefly about the Florida School Recognition Funds.
*She encouraged stakeholders to join the committee.
*The current committee members are as follows: Buda, Vinat, Delgado, Rivas,
Hennessy, Sands, Rios-Cristancho, Castellanos, Osorio, Guitian, Toledo,
Callaway, Noa, Hennessy, Rivers, Folse (parent), Z. Rodriguez (parent), Khan.
- Coach Ro. (Turkey Bowl, Flag Football)
*Girls Soccer team are county champs.
*Proposed a Flag Football Tournament (after testing)
- Announcements/Open Forum.
*The dates for the end of the year award ceremonies were provided.
*The Career Day date was provided.
*Tentative testing dates provided (January 08 /13 for grade 6; January 09 / 14
for grade 07; January 10 for grade 8).
- Mr. Sands, Washington D. C. and United Way Faculty and Student Campaigns.
*Mr. Sands is planning a trip to Washington D.C.
*Ms. Artime sent the criteria for participants to parents in her Sunday
Letter.
*More information about the trip is forthcoming.
- 8Th Grade Fieldtrip to Island of Adventure (January 16th).
*Parents and students will be informed about the payment deadline.
*Students will be advised of the window to select their groups.
*Participation is open to all 8th grade students.
*Parents of students that have been excluded from participating in the field
trip have been notified.
