Welcome
• Ms. Artime, Principal, welcomed the committee and guests.
Approval of Previous Minutes
• Minutes from the previous EESAC meeting were approved.
Principal’s Message
• Ms. Artime gave a brief update related to construction. No major projects are
happening at this time. Construction crew is following-up with issues, if
any, from the previous projects. The Media Center is now open and
operational.
• Ms. Artime discussed the Student Perspective Program / Initiative; District
effort to increase student involvement / student voice.
• Ms. Artime expressed her gratitude for the PTSA and their continued support of
our students, staff, and school initiatives.
• Washington, DC field trip has been approved. The student eligibility criteria
will be shared with parents. 50 eligible students will participate in the
field trip.
• F.A.S.T assessment for Mathematics will conclude today. Make-up sessions for
absent students will be scheduled soon.
• School-wide Spelling Bee will take place soon.
• January 28, 2025 is the Teacher of The Year Banquet.
School Improvement Process
• Mid-Year School Culture Survey window has ended. The data will be used to
inform Phase V Mid-Year Review of the School Improvement Process.
Old / New Business
• Ms. Vinat (UTD Steward, Chairperson of the FSRP Committee) discussed the 2024-
2025 Florida School Recognition Plan (FSRP).
• Faculty voted on the proposals that were submitted to the FSRP Committee on
January 09, 2025.
• After voting, it was determined that we needed to facilitate a run-off on
January 10, 2025.
• Ms. Vinat mentioned that the staff voted that the Florida School Recognition
Program’s financial award will be used for non-recurring bonuses to the
faculty and staff – 91% allocated for Instructional Staff; 3% allocated for
Administrators; 6% allocated for Support Staff.
• EESAC unanimously approved 2024-2025 FSRP plan.
Announcements / Open Forum
• Mr. Sands mentioned that Kick-It-Up, 7th grade intramural soccer game, is
scheduled for Thursday, January 16, 2025
• Hoop-It-Up, 8th grade intramural basketball game, will be held in March
• Civics workshop for parents will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025, at
5:00pm in the auditorium.
• Dr. Garcia mentioned that 3 of our students will be participating in the
District Science Fair.
• Dr. Garcia will be meeting with the different departments to collect and
upload their 5.0 S.T.E.A.M. lessons
• Carver will participate in 12 categories at the Science Expo (February 01,
2025).
