The minutes for the February 14,2006 were approved.
We discussed the Strategic Planning Focus Group document. Topics that evolved included a discussion about the data retrieved from the weekly and bi-weekly assessments. The data is used to drive instruction and the remediation that takes place is being done based on the data.
The EESAC Committee determined that there was room for improvment in the area of Math and Science.
A student mentoring program was brought to the table and the discussion of having outstanding students mentor less proficient students in being more accountable for their educational outcomes. The discussion included having students read longer passages for practice to build endurance at an earlier time in the year.
The EESAC Committee agreed that the Parent Initiatives in place by the district is not accessable to all parents. The Committee thought that the meetings should be more neighborhood friendly and more accessable to working parents both time and distance wise.
Elimination of bureaucracy and making the district more accessable to employees and parents alike.
Under school operations a discussion of the ant infestation was raised and the proper channels to have the custodians take care of the problem were discussed.
The sound system that we previously discussed was touched upon however to date we have not come to a decision on which one to purchase to meet the schools needs.
Meeting adjourned at 4:15
