Welcome
- Ms. Artime delivered the welcome.
Approval Of Previous Minutes
- Minutes from previous meeting were approved.
Principal�s Message
- Ms. Artime informed the committee that her weekly message will be posted on
the school�s website.
- The PTSA will host a Black History Luncheon for staff (date is forthcoming).
- Alumni Day / Hall of Fame is scheduled for February 28, 2025; A, Davis will
perform along with Ms. Arca�s Musical Theatre students.
- Ms. Artime will be reading to homeroom classes; an ode to Black History
Month.
- Carver is slated to be recognized as one of the top magnet middle schools in
the country.
- PTSA will host a Step performance for students on February 14, 2025.
- There will be two Zoom calls to discuss the details for the Washington DC
trip; parents will receive the links prior to the meeting.
School Improvement Process (Monitoring, Implementation, Review, Etc.)
- Mid-Year reflection data has been submitted; information will be used to
drive the next steps in the School Improvement Process.
- Additional Action Steps were added to each of the areas of focus.
Old / New Business
- Dr. Garcia mentioned that Carver won several awards in the Science Expo �
second place for the rocket, math team won second place, three 8th grade
students qualified for the State Science Fair.
Announcements / Open Forum
- Ms. Artime reminded the committee of our School-Based Threat Management Team
(SBTMT) and their function.
- Ms. Artime reminded the committee that the Safety committee meets monthly to
discuss concerns and making our school safe; meet jointly with Carver
Elementary.
