Welcome
Approval of previous minutes.
- Minutes from the previous meeting were approved.
Principal's Message, Mrs. I. Artime.
- Ms. Artime mentioned that Finalsite, the platform we use for mass communication had been down for a few days but is now up and running.
- She mentioned the upcoming jar wars; fun-raising competition amongst the grade levels that goes towards the schools' United Way contribution.
Grade Level that collects the most will be incentivized.
- She reminded the committee of the Town Hall tonight (6:00 pm at Ponce De Leon Middle School). All were encouraged to attend.
- Students in the Spanish program will participate in an event held at the Spanish Consulate's residence today.
- Boys Soccer team are heading to the finals.
- PM1 of the FAST is complete; overall scores are better than last school year.
- We are currently administering the AP1 (i-Ready diagnostic).
- School-wide book fair is scheduled for the last week of October.
School Improvement Process (monitoring, implementation, review, etc.), Mr. S. Rivers, Assistant Principal.
- Mr. Rivers discussed the development of the 2025-2026 School Improvement Process.
- Shared that we have completed the Impact Review Process (included evaluating the effectiveness of the Action Steps aligned to each Area of Focus
and the development of additional action steps).
- Action Steps that were added after the Impact Review were shared and discussed.
Old/New business
- Mr. Rivers reminded the committee of the upcoming screenings (Scoliosis and Hearing for selected students). Information, including opt-out
instructions, has been sent to the parents.
- Mr. Rivers also discussed the Code of Student Conduct Acknowledgment form for parents.
Announcements/Open Forum.
- Mr. Sands will spearhead the student United Way campaign.
- Ms. Vinat will spearhead the Faculty and Staff United Way campaign.
- "Spike It Up" is scheduled for November 21. Intramural volleyball competition amongst 6th grade students.
- Each department is tasked with nominating 3 students each month for Values Matter recognition.
- Mr. Gutierrez (Academia Couture) presented a $750 donation to the school.
