NEW BUSINESS:
Ms. Ames told of some highlights from the meeting held by the EESAC chairpersons.
-- If something is not in the by-laws it can not be done.
-- If something is in the by-laws it must be done.
We need to look at our by-laws regarding meeting times.
We also need to check to see if it is in our by-laws that if members don’t attend for two (2) meetings without a valid excuse, they must be replaced.
Assistant principals don’t have voting rights. We need to check our by-laws to see if they can vote.
We can have a vice or co-chair for EESAC if it is in the by-laws.
EESAC compliance – voting by consensus is okay unless there is a need to vote, then must put the person’s name and how they voted.
We can establish an EESAC trust fund up to $2,999.99 for food and small items.
We must have in the by-laws how we will cancel a meeting, if it becomes necessary.
If we can’t reach a consensus then everyone must vote. This must be in the by-laws.
The principal and EESAC chair must verify the EESAC roster.
Mrs. King suggested we bring the by-laws to the next meeting and look at them.
The next meeting date will be announced at a later date.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:43 p.m.
