The meeting began at 8:26 am with Chairperson Linda Belkin asking each member to read the minutes from the September 20th meeting. One correction was made in reference to changing the date from September 26th to September 20th. The minutes were approved at 8:29 am.
Ms. Harris discussed the School Improvement Plan (SIP). She recognized Ms. Riley and Ms. Belkin as National Board Certified Teachers while she was discussing the demographics of the school. Ms. Harris proceeded to go through the plan in detail to answer any questions.
Peer mediation was discussed as a preferred option for conflict resolution. This came from page 20 in the SIP.
Starting a Band is another priority brought up in the SIP. It may not get started in the 2006-2007 school year but the instruments have been ordered.
Ms. Harris clarified the fact that EESAC should be more involved in the creation of the SIP Plan in the future.
It was voted on by the committee that EESAC meets the first Wednesday of the month at 8:15 am. There will be no meeting in October.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 am.
