The meeting was called to order at 8:17 a.m.

Review of the minutes. Curry-Coffee made a motion to approve minutes. Prado-Lima seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved.

Principal’s Update - Mrs. Prado-Lima

Addressing the mass school shooting
All 9 gates are locked.
Access to view cameras for all Administration (Villazon and Gutierrez)
Prado-Lima keeps camera views up in her office
Additional security has been hired for the school
Vicky has been moved to the office.
During the Code Red, Vicky has access to the camera.
The front gate is locked at 9:08 a.m. every morning.
The only access to the main office is through the gate near the locked front gate.
The delivery area has been lockdown.
Ms. Lado opens the gate for teachers during lunch.
Mr. Heras commended Mrs.Prado-Lima for her openness with parents and students
Enrollment has increased.
Mrs. Prado-Lima visited Wyche Elementary and center for modern languages and spoke to parents and gave promotional t-shirts.
Parent tours are being scheduled.
Transparency with potential parents
Enrollment has increased by 80 students for the incoming 6th grade class since the beginning of the school year so far.
The lunchroom is really pleasant.
We have increased breakfast consumption.
One lunch allows us to control where the kids are.
8 class periods allows kids who have Intensive Reading and Intensive Math to have electives.
Interventions
Science intervention started yesterday with 21 students.
During PE, they take the students twice a week to do i-Ready in the computer labs.
The Curriculum Support Specialist comes to assist in Reading and Language Arts.
Curriculum Support is not needed in Civics. The students are doing very well.
Saturday Success Academy will include Civics, Science, and Algebra.
Four young ladies want to help to spearhead a “See Something, Say Something” initiative. They have meetings with Mr. Fabal during 6th period.
Ms. Miyar mentioned that MS. Curry Coffee was not an alternate teacher since the beginning of the year and there was a mistake in the roster and this will be corrected. Ms. Martin was the alternate teacher. This will also be fixed in the roster.

Student Updates
They are noticing that the school is safer and feeling more secure.

Additional Announcements

The Fairchild challenge will be on March 3rd for the Culinary Arts Department.
The Black History Month luncheon was a success. Yesterday, Mrs. Brunson and Mrs. Curry-Coffee did an awesome job.
The Dance Department went on a field trip to the Adrienne Arsht Center to see the Alvin Ailey dancers. Two parents chaperoned the trip.
The 8th-grade field trip to Gradventure will be on May 5th.
The 8th-grade Promotion Ceremony will be held on June 8th.
