PRINCIPAL UPDATES
Mr. Crespo
Preparing school for possible earlier opening than anticipated based on current status that the county is in. The school board meeting will be meeting today to discuss hat direction we will be headed. We should have an answer soon.

Because we are opening physically, we will have a group of students physically and another group of students doing MSO- my school online.

Ms. Albert: Will we be doing another parent survey? Mr. Crespo says it is possible the Superintendent says that the parents can change their mind.

Ms. Miyar- Can teachers teach from home or physically?
Teachers have to teach from school unless they have an ADA where they need an accommodation to teach solely remotely and if a teacher does not have ADA accommodations but all classes are MSO, the district leaves it up to the principal to grant people to work from home even if they do not have accommodations in such situations.

The K12 program will not be used anymore the district has decided not to proceed using it. The teachers are now using Microsoft Teams and ZOOM to deliver their lessons.
We are in the process of preparing classrooms with hand sanitizing stations. Custodians have been working hard in separating seats and desks. We have specialized equipment with a misting spray to sanitize classrooms that may get infected with COVID19. Also, an isolation room for students that may have any symptoms. Also a full time nurse will be available. Hallways will be marked with arrows to indicate 6 feet. We have expanded to 3 lunches to keep the amount of students spread out in the cafeteria. Bathroom use will be only 2 at a time.

Everyone that comes to the school has to do a health check every day.

Buses will also have a similar procedures. Masks are available for the students and teachers. Face shields are available for the teachers.

Hallways will be only one direction.

Ms. Albert- What if some parents have changed their mind? Do you foresee an influx of parents changing their minds to allow their children to return to school? Mr. Crespo says that we would have to shift or modify, we are here to serve the students and parents.

Our student enrollment is at 680.

Ms. Stacy Brooks parent rep Is there anything that the district has in place where the student is allowed to go to school and do online- a hybrid model.
Mr. Crespo says there is only online or in school model at this moment.

School Improvement Plan
Mr. Crespo

Normally we go to a PD during the summer called synergy. We had some teachers on the leadership team, that worked on the SIP. They did a great job putting it together.

We did not have scores to compare for this year. That part of the SIP stayed the same. As far as section on “culture” we did take into consideration the climate surveys that were done at the school. We looked at the 3 sections that dropped the most, gone up and remained neutral.

For example, questions like, “Did the students feel the principal was doing a good job?”

We have our resource officer, evacuation and emergency drills in place still.
When we have a lock down drill teachers will take the student to the area that they have to go to, so the student knows what to do in the event of a lockdown.

Motion to approve phase 1 and 2 of the SIP
Mohammed Ahmed motions to approve
Ms. Evelyn Rodriguez seconds

Motion carries unanimously

Title 1 updates.

Ms. Martin- Community involvement specialist

Many students are being marked absent. They are having trouble logging in. Connectivity issues, internet.

Ms. Miyar some parents have requested devices. Mr. Crespo has a list of about 120 devices that are needed by the students. In the meantime, we asking students to log in on their phones. We need to be considerate and understanding with the students.

Student Updates:

Nevian Brooks
Everything is going good with virtual learning. I like to go online and do my classes. My classes are on Zoom, sometimes I like to see my friends on ZOOM.

Parent Updates:
Ms. Brooks
Adjusting to a virtual setting as a parent I am a bit nervous about returning back to school. I think many parents have these concerns. I know some parents that want schools to reopen. My concern is the school bus. I feel comfortable with the cafeteria setting and protocols. The updates provided have been very helpful. I thank Dr. Miyar for inviting me and I look forward to being a part of EESAC this year at CCMS. Thank you.

Ms. Cannon- If the mist machine will be used for classrooms that are exposed to COVID-19, Are any sanitizing measures put into place? The custodians will be disinfecting the classrooms everyday, wiping down desk etc.

Ms. Rodriguez- Miami Dade College
We are doing the same proses that MDCPS is doing with over 256 classrooms. We are doing 6 feet apart. The students will be doing hybrid model where half the class comes one day and the other half comes the other day. Document cameras.

Ms. Ingraham added, the math department has document cameras, we purchased them with our own personal money. We can not use our supply money for this type of a purchase.
Ms. Albert- Will we keep the same bell schedule? Mr. Crespo advised yes we will, the students will have 8 minutes to move from one class to another.
