Principal updates:
We currently have a COVID Case and have students in quarantine. This affected 9 teachers, about 105 students and 1 substitute. A staff member as well as a student
self-reported. The district will be sending 3 curriculum support specialists for coverage.
School Improvement Plan-
Impact Review a group of the leadership team visited Math as well as other classes. We discussed and included that in our SIP.

Title1 meeting- We had a good number of participants at the meeting.
Last meeting, we transferred $2999 dollars in the account to the Principal for school incentives. For certain programs to motivate students to do more and do well. The money from last year is also still in the account. This should be a great year for incentives for students which will translate into them being motivated to do well.

We realize that during rainy days, it was becoming a little difficult for students to enter the building. On rainy days and emergency drills the students will follow the green arrows moving in two directions. The arrows are approx. 6 feet apart.

Teacher of the Year.

Mr. Espinosa was chosen for teacher of the year. The region will review the packet and select the teacher for the region.
Rookie teacher of the year Mr. Ubaldo Rodriguez.
I am very pleased with the two selections this year.
We are getting ready for Thanksgiving break. Some students whose teacher is in quarantine will be in the lab joining the zoom meetings.

Student Updates- Nevian Brooks- Participated and shared his activity in class. “If I was a principal what would I do? I would ask all the people to help me fix my office.”

Mrs. Brooks, asking about COVID testing. Are school bus drivers doing contact tracing for a student that has tested positive? Teachers and school bus drivers must sign into the portal or application where they must do a self-check health screening every day. If a student rides a public or private bus, we have the student roster. If there is a student that is affected with COVID that rides the bus, all students in that bus will also be quarantined.

Ms. Martin- Community Involvement Specialist. - Some parents want their kids to return to school or vice versa, we have a form on our website for the students to fill out. The parents must wait for an approval. It does take some time to get approved.

Some parents are leading more toward MSO because they don’t like that the students are being quarantined.

Ms. Karan-Miyar
Ms. Elda Estrada’s term ended in October she has been selected again as an alternate parent; the roster will be updated to a renew to a 3 year term.
