II. Call to Order
*Mr. Perez called the EESAC Committee meeting to order at 2:30 p.m. on March 13, 2014, at International Studies Preparatory Academy at Gables (ISPA).
III. Roll Call
*Mr. Perez, Ms. Diaz, Ms. Rodriguez, Ms. Bez, Ms. Lugo, Mr. Hernandez, Ms. Martinez, Mr. Weiner, Mr. Mazloum, & Ms. Medina
IV. Approval of Minutes from January 23, 2014
*Mr. Weiner made a motion to approve the minutes, and Ms. Bez seconded the motion.
* Minutes from, January 23, 2014 were approved by all members.
V. School Improvement Plan 2013-2014 Review and Updates
*Copies are available from Mr. Perez upon request.
*The MDCPS District has approved the SIP.
*According to Mid-Year Interims, all subject areas are on target to meet our academic
goals in all areas (Reading, Writing, Math & Science).
*Parental Involvement has increased tri-fold from last year.
*Attendance goals are being met.
*Suspensions have also been reduced.



IV. SIP Waiver and Review for 2014-2015
*An 8th period day has been requested for next school year, 2014-2015.
*Goals and objectives were reviewed, progress is being made in all areas of the SIP for the 2013-2014 school year.
V. Recruitment Update for 2014-2015
*Mr. Perez expressed that there have been many inquiries regarding the enrollment process this year. Acceptance, Denial, and Waiting List letters will be mailed on March 14, 2014.
*Approximately 125 new students will be accepted. Approximately 75
students will be accepted into the Spanish Program, 25 students in the French Program,
and 25 in the Italian Program.
VI. EESAC Budget
*Mr. Perez mentioned that currently EESAC has a budget of $1258.04 based on our student population.
*An order has been placed to purchase $563.00 in medals, awards, trophies for the end of the year activities.
*Two printers and supplies were purchased for students’ usage for $690.00.
VII. PTSA Update
*The Mediterranean Evening sponsored by the PTSA was a success. As per Mr. Mazloum, the PTSA was able to raise approximately $7,000 for the organization.
*The PTSA will be holding two car washes to continue fundraising. One will take place in April and the other in May.
*The PTSA is organizing a small reception at a local restaurant which will take place after graduation on May 29, 2014.
VIII. New Business
*Mr. Mazloum is in the process of completing Student Identification Cards for ISPA’s students this year.
*Ms. Martinez will be holding a mock SAT/ACT test on May 10th to prepare students for these important tests.
*Ms. Rodriguez will be visiting Italy with selected ISPA students next week during Spring Break.
*Ms. Rodriguez will also be sponsoring the Close Up fieldtrip in May 2014.
*ISPA’s First World Cup Event will take place on March 20th, 2014.
*Graduation is scheduled for May 29th, 2014., and PTSA is organizing a small reception at a local restaurant.

*Ms. Weiner moved to adjourn the meeting, and Ms. Bez seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 3:30 p.m.
