Call to Order
The EESAC meeting was called to order at 8:14 a.m. by Dr. Angela Gayden, EESAC Chair.
In Attendance: Ms. Nuris Binett, Ms. Natalie Cobbs, Mrs. Tammy Edouard, Dr. Angela Gayden, Ms. Constance Gilbert, Mrs. Marilyn Morning, Mr. David Perez, and Dr. Sharon Pottinger.
Alternate Members present: Mrs. Patricia Johnson, and Mrs. Brigette Moody

Mrs. Edouard welcomed all attendees.
Roll Call
Ms. Gilbert conducted roll call.
Minutes
Mrs. Morning made a motion to accept the February 11, 2025 minutes with noted change and Dr. Pottinger seconded. Passed by consensus.
SIP Updates
Dr. Gayden shared the following:

• Submission of Phase VI which includes:
• Action steps in ELA: Student Practice Writing Different Genres and Incorporation of Technology
• Action steps in Benchmark-aligned Instruction: Question Analysis Instruction and Timed Test Practice
• Action steps for Differentiated Instruction: Visual Support of ESOL Students and Kinesthetic Activities
• Action steps for ESSA Subgroups Relating to Economically Disadvantaged Students: “Get on the Bus” Initiative and Parent Workshops
• Action steps for Positive Learning Environment: Student celebrations for attendance improvement and student attendance contracts
Mrs. Edouard shared we have completed the action steps for Positive Learning Environment:
Student celebrations for attendance improvement and all students have an attendance contract except one.
Dr. Gayden shared the following:
Corrections to EESAC Compliance Dashboard
• Update to show Bylaws were voted on this academic year
• Update to pending minutes from December 5, 2017 Mrs. Edouard has received approval from District to approve the outstanding minutes due to former principal retired prior to next EESAC meeting.
• Appoint ELL Representative
Dr. Gayden shared the following:
School Uniform Policy
• We are still a uniform school; our school uniform policy is that students will wear:
• Red, white or navy-blue polo shirts
• Khakis, navy blue pants or jeans with no rips, cuts or tears
• School spirit wear
• Yoga pants only for pregnant girls
• Closed toe shoes (no crocs)
• No head scarfs or bonnets
• School ID on at all times
• Updates, if necessary
Senior Updates
• 89% of Seniors are graduation ready with testing
• One Senior accepted to University
• One Senior with intent to join Military
• All others have active applications to Miami-Dade College
Dr. Gayden shared the following:
School Activities Update
• Student participated in Miami Dade County Youth Fair & Exposition and one student won Third place in the Evening Wear category, lead by
Ms. Finelli
• SGA hosted our African American Excellence Fridays Poetry Recital, lead by Ms. Anthemides
• Students participated in a Career Day Mind Your Business activity, coordinated by Ms. T. Turner
• Students participated in a CTE Field Trip to Miami-Dade Wolfson Campus with Ms. Binett
• Dream in Green Challenge-Ladies Going Green have collected 637 items in February, 656 items in March
• Dream in Green Challenge-Ladies Going Green awarded Dream in Green banner showcasing accomplishments
• Our students, under Ms. Binett’s leadership, won First Place in the Sedano Culinary Arts Cook-Off and first place Championship at the Miami
Dade County Youth Fair & Exposition. In the initial competition students won one special award, nineteen first place, and five second place for a
total of 25 awards at the Miami Dade County Youth Fair & Exposition
